For one night only, join authors and tutors Rebecca Giggs (Writing Creative Nonfiction), Emily O’Grady (Writing a Novel Brisbane), Miles Allinson (Writing a Novel Melbourne), Kavita Bedford (Writing a Novel Sydney), Liz Evans (Writing a Novel Hobart), Peggy Frew (Writing a Novel Online), Davina Bell (Writing for Kids) and Shivaun Plozza (Writing a YA Novel) as they talk about their courses, exploring topics covered and the guest speakers you might encounter, how the Faber Writing Anthology leads students to success, and how they will help you get as close as possible to finishing a draft of your manuscript across the year.
This round, we continue to offer our new partial scholarship (25% off the full course price) for “under-represented voices”, in addition to our full scholarship. Both scholarships are merit-based and are available in each of the eight programs currently open to application. Those applicants who are not awarded a scholarship, but who have been offered a paid place, will be eligible for our early bird discount, a saving of $200 – $500 on full course payments.
Faber Writing Academy manager Pip Smith will outline the two scholarships available for each program and the details of the early bird offer, following which the tutors will talk you through putting together a compelling application: how to grab their attention and make your project sing and what you should focus on in telling us why this is a story only you can write. Together, they will talk about how much time you might need to put aside to write outside of class, and the bonds that develop between students, often leading to the formation of lifelong writing groups.
Come prepared with questions you’ve long wanted to ask about studying writing! Places are free.
