Congratulations to Kym Tyzack, the recipient of the 2024 Faber Writing Academy Scholarship
for Writing the YA Novel with Shivaun Plozza and Bec Kavanagh.

Kym Tyzack has worked as a secondary school English and history teacher, a library assistant, and as a Neighborhood House coordinator. Her short story ‘Leaving’ was published in The Furphy Anthology 2022, and ‘Motherlove’ will appear in the forthcoming Minds Shine Bright Confidence 2024 anthology. She lives in regional Victoria.

We thank all applicants for their submissions and our wonderful tutors, Shivaun Plozza and Bec Kavanagh, who worked through the applications.

We look forward to welcoming Kym to the Academy and introducing her to her tutors and fellow classmates.
