The Faber Writing Anthology is a showcase of student work that is distributed to agents and publishers in Australia and the United Kingdom. Participants in our intensive courses are invited to contribute.
Under the management of Rowena Tuziak, the Faber Writing Academy’s Marketing Manager, the 2024 anthology will be released in four editions.
The three fiction editions will include the work from students who completed Writing a Novel in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Online in 2024. The pieces traverse genres and styles, from commercial fiction to literary fiction, psychological thriller to fantasy, science fiction to historical fiction, and verse to young adult writing.
The Nonfiction edition will include work from students who completed Writing True Stories and Writing Creative Nonfiction in 2024, and Writing the Narrative Nonfiction Book in 2025. This edition contains vibrant memoirs, potential essay collections, and works of engaged reportage.
As well as presenting writing that has been polished and refined through study and workshopping, the Anthology serves as a directory of emerging writers, facilitating direct communication between Faber Writing Academy alumni and agents and publishers who are interested in their work.
Newly published novelist and Faber alumni Magdalena McGuire wrote: ‘This anthology gets sent to key people in the publishing industry and – here’s the thing – they actually read it! It turns out that the anthology really is a big deal.’ Read her reflection here.
