In this special Writing a Novel (Brisbane) Taster Workshop, join tutor Emily O’Grady for a two-hour writing class, followed by a discussion on what to expect from Writing a Novel (Brisbane) and your inclusion in the Faber Writing Anthology.

For one day only, join author and Writing a Novel (Brisbane) tutor Emily O’Grady (The Yellow House; Feast) for an introductory workshop, in which we showcase the workshop-led teaching style at Faber Writing Academy. Afterwards, join us for light refreshments as Emily answers your questions about the Faber Writing Academy experience, including topics covered, the guest speakers you might encounter, how the Faber Writing Anthology leads students to success, and how your tutors will help you get as close as possible to finishing a draft of your manuscript across the year.

Emily O’Grady is a writer from Brisbane. Her debut novel, The Yellow House won the 2018 Australian/Vogel’s Literary Award and was shortlisted for the 2019 Ned Kelly Award for Best First Fiction. Her work has been published in Meanjin, Kill Your Darlings, The Big Issue fiction edition, and New Australian Fiction 2021.
