Start to Write

Our Start to Write courses are designed to help aspiring writers lift the lid on their writing ambitions and really get words working.

In the beginning

All writers need to start somewhere. Whether you want to write fiction or nonfiction, it’s important to get across the basics, develop your ideas and to get some words down on paper.

In all our Start to Write programs, participants will discover:

  • The tools needed to start writing
  • The common problems shared by emerging writers, and ways to overcome them
  • The fundamentals of writing
  • Other aspiring writers just starting out

The courses are designed to help foster ideas, explore structure and technique, and get words going – there’ll also be practical advice on ‘where to next’. Interactivity is encouraged throughout, and there will be space for questions and answers during each session.
