Congratulations to Aileen Westbrook
Aileen Westbrook is a Sydney writer living on Dharug land near the Parramatta River. She is fascinated by crosstalk between people, plants and place. Inspired by her experiences as scientist, artist and landscape designer, Aileen completed a BA in Creative Writing, receiving Macquarie University’s Award for Academic Excellence. She has published in literary journals including Kill Your Darlings, Verge and The Quarry. In 2018 she won the prestigious Monash Undergraduate Prize for Creative Writing. Aileen was awarded an Incubate Writers’ Residency to develop ‘The Beckoning,’ an extinction elegy for people and plants published by Sydney Review of Books in 2021.
