Allen & Unwin, 15-time Publisher of the Year and Australia’s leading independent publisher, is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated person to become our Receptionist and Faber Writing Academy Coordinator.

This is a varied role and duties will include: being the first point of contact for all enquiries about Allen & Unwin and Murdoch Books; providing administrative support to all departments; working with the Faber Writing Academy team to oversee student communications and payments, as well as day-to-day functions of the central reception area. There are also opportunities to assist with book production and proofreading. 

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, have excellent interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to providing good customer service. Ideally you will also love books as much as we do!

Other attributes we are looking for:

• Advanced computer literacy skills including Word, Excel and Outlook

• Strong communication skills

• Attention to detail

• An ability to work autonomously

• Strong planning and time management skills with an ability to multitask and prioritise work

• An articulate and personable phone manner

This full-time position is based in our Sydney office and is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking an entry-level position in the publishing industry.
