Dr Sophia Barnes is a writer and professional editor with over a decade of experience working with authors of fiction and memoir, including many who have been commercially published. She has been a member of the Lifestories editing team since 2013, providing manuscript assessment and development support, structural and copyediting services and mentoring. She has also worked as a freelance editor and manuscript assessor for a range of clients, including Giramondo Publishing. She is co-author of the book Ezra Pound and Olga Rudge’s The Blue Spill (Bloomsbury) and a regular contributor to the Sydney Review of Books. Her short fiction, feature-length literary criticism and academic writing has been published in Australia and internationally. Possessing a PhD in English Literature from The University of Sydney and a Doctorate in Creative Arts from Western Sydney University, Sophia has taught a range of courses in literature and creative writing over the past fifteen years.
