Rip up that blank page and write on the scraps! This experimental writing course will take your writing out of its comfort zone and into a place of excitement, interest and pleasure. This must attend course will help make your sentences come to life by looking at non-traditional ways of approaching the style and the structure of your manuscript.

Whether you’ve lost faith in your words or you don’t know how to approach them in the first place, we’ll look at experimental fiction over the ages and how writers have used form and content to push the boundaries of theirs and their readers worlds. Does your writing need a new container? Or is it the content that’s holding it back? How far can you push the boundaries of what writing can do?

In this one-day course, we will make time for you to do free writing, working in groups, paring back and shaping. We will experiment with character, voice and perspective. Above all, we’ll make some not-boring, exciting writing.

This course will be led by one of the most exciting new voices in Australian literature. Start the new year with this rare opportunity to make your words electric and sing on the page.

This program is suitable for both emerging and established writers.

Your course includes:

• One full day's intensive tuition from 10am - 4pm.
• Lunch and regular tea and coffee breaks.
• A complimentary copy of a recent A&U publication
• On completion of the course, alumni discounts on future Faber Writing Academy courses and books from the Allen & Unwin Website
