Think you can’t write a story at will? Think again. Kirsty’s workshop throws teens into unexpected story situations, giving them the tools to craft a creative response. Students work through a series of practical exercises aimed at improving their story telling and writing. Scenes and setting are analysed with a view to creating mood and building tension, and students discover how structure enables them to ‘direct’ their story from beginning to end. The session is engaging, encouraging and empowering. Participants come away with several well-developed story ideas of their own and stronger writing muscles.

Students with an interest in writing will benefit from learning a working writer’s process. Those who don't think they can write will gain confidence in their creative ability.

Teens might also like to try our second workshop, Teen writers – unlock your ideas!, as it offers a different approach and content.

The workshop includes:
• Intensive (but fun!) tuition from 9am - 1pm
• A free book from Allen & Unwin
• A completion certificate
• On completion of the course, alumni discounts on future Faber Writing Academy courses and books from the Allen & Unwin website

Class size is strictly limited. Book soon to avoid disappointment.
